Marigold update

Remember the Marigold seeds I planted ?
Well look at them now.
Aren't they looking fabulous ?
Lost a few due to the cats sitting on them but all in all I am pleased with them.
Not sure what the other seeds were in with them but they are growing well so I guess we will find out soon enough LOL

Sweet peas arrived

Woohooo my sweet peas arrived.
I was a little surprised when all 80 sweetpeas turned up in one 3 inch pot but upon removing them I did see the roots looked pretty good.
I had already potted on a few of them before I remembered to take a photo LOL
Typical of me.
These are the Giant Spencer Waved Sweet Peas.
Once in full bloom the smell should be amazing.

Thank you to Grows on you members for the idea of paper pots LOL
It is going to save me a fortune on pots and means I can put them straight into the ground.

Ran out of newspaper so used the toilet roll inners I had been saving ;O)
Again thank you to Grows on you members for this idea.

The terrible two

Just another few pics of the boys.

Felix is watching the tadpoles.
Quite funny to watch him chasing them around.
He can't get to them due to the wire net guard under the weeds LOL

I wanted to get a shot of the sunflowers that were started from seed on my sons windowsill but do you think Felix would move ?
All he kept doing was looking at me as if to say 'What do you want now ?' LOL

This is one of my pussy cats 'Robin' wondering what all these grasses are.
They are growing all over the garden in varying sizes.
Whilst I don't mind a few of them they are a serious pain in the backside LOL
Edit- I now know the grasses to be creeping sedge.

Wanted to get this posted before I take my painkillers and forget LOL

This is the section I wanted to work on today and get ready.

Helped by my ever faithful guard cat this part is ready for planting.
Hoping the sweet peas hubby won for me on ebay arrive tomorrow.
80 plants woohooooo :O)

This is currently the tidiest part of my whole garden LOL

Good morning sunshine

Housework is done and the sun is shining for the moment, Yay.
Just thought i'd post a few pics before I go out to the garden to take some more LOL
Nothing exciting but I am still at the stage of point and click with the camera ;O)
Thanks to the fabulous members at Grows on you I can now give a name to some of the pictures ROFL
Pansy
Plain old pansy bedding plant but I loved the colour and design LOL

Dandelion and Daisy
In my opinion these are given a bad name.
Whilst they can be a pain in the bum they are still beautiful in their own right.

Vinca minor - Lesser Periwinkle
This was covering the border along the left hand side of my garden
last year and I pulled all of it up last year thinking it was a weed LOL
I'll leave it in this year and see how it goes.

Berberis darwini
Bought this last year as a tiny shrub from homebase in their
reduction section as it was a bit under the weather but it has really sprouted.

Helichrysum Ruby Cluster ( curry plant )
This whilst very pretty now opens up to display beautiful flowers
perfect for dried flower displays and if you like curry the smell is fantastic.

Now I have finished my tea so am off to the garden as the sun has moved around the back now and it is beautiful outside.
Byeeeeeeeeeee

Work in progress

Here is my shambles of a garden so far this year.
I have already done a few bits so it doesn’t look anywhere near as bad as last year although it still looks bad enough LOL

Climbing rose woohoo.
To the right will be covered in passion flowers if it comes back this year.
I haven’t seen anything there yet.

This is what we are naming cat and wildlife corner.
The cats love hiding in the grasses and the tiny pond is a have for wildlife and is currently full of tadpoles.

Strawberries survived the winter so are now in hanging tubs out of the cats reach LOL

Strawberry cuttings have taken really well and survived the winter.
The two cyprus were purchased for 50p each last year from homebase and have done really well considering they were brown when I bought them LOL
The little alpin was bought last week for £1.50 and I am attemtping to nurse it back to health and the cranesbill geranium (i think that’s what it is called) was £1 from homebase last year ( love their reductions LOL ). It was almost dead but seems to be doing well so far this year.

Next few are some of the potted plants I was given last year and bulb/tubers and pot I bought from poundland and planted this year.

Meet the moggies

Going through the photos taken with my phone and couldn't resist posting these LOL
Meet Felix ( black and white ) and Robin ( mainly black ).
We adopted these 2 from a rescue center last year in June at 11 months old.
It would appear they have now settled in and made themselves at home.
What do you think ? Do they still look like scaredy cat stress balls still ?
I will be posting more pics of these two as they are proper little characters who always manage to make us laugh.
Can't imagine being without them now LOL

This is Robin guarding the remote.

This is Felix having cuddles with his dad.
I swear Felix thinks he is a baby.

Good morning world

Ok after a typical Bank holiday week end the weather is now beautiful although still a tad windy.
Plans for today are housework ( half done so far ), watering ( even after all the rain ) and posting some pictures I took so everyone can see how badly I am doing LMAO
I will also be posting some pics of plants that I need names to so if anyone can help I would love for you to contact me or comment on the pic post.

Hubby is lending me his Canon 300D Rebel so expect lots and lots of pictures.
Absolutely no idea what all the features are so it'll be a case of point and click until I learn but at least it will be better than the pictures from my phone ;)

Anywhoooo enough of my waffle or the housework will never get done which will mean I can't take any photos LOL

Marigolds from seed

Ok I planted some seeds.
I know some are Marigolds but I have no idea what the others are LOL.
I guess only time will tell.
I do not have the greenest of thumbs so I am hoping they will survive.
My seeds and plants have a nasty habit of dying on me but I am hoping that this year will be different.
Anywhoooo I have re-potted the marigold and anonymous seeds and will post progress if and when there is any :O)

Giant Spencer Waved Sweet Peas

Look what my hubby just bought me.
I have 80 beautiful sweet pea plants ( hopefully ) winging their way to me.
I can't wait and have already found a home for them in the garden.
I have a very bare wall that will look fabulous with these climbing all over it.

Welcome to my garden

I have decided to set up this blog as a way to track my progress in my garden.
I blame my mother-in-law for my new addiction.
I have always admired pretty flowers and after having everything stripped from my garden I am attempting to start again.
Thanks to Carol I have some beautiful plants and shrubs to start me off and that is when the bug bit hard.
Thank you Carol for all your love, support and patience with my constant phone calls and questions.
Thank you to my hubby for supporting my new addiction lol
